Grand Parkway: To build or not to build…
The Grand Parkway could be a fourth “ring road” around the greater Houston region, proposed by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and promoted by the Grand Parkway Association.
Known as SH 99, the Grand Parkway is proposed as a toll road stretching more than 180 miles and passing through seven Texas counties, including Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Galveston, Montgomery, Liberty, and Chambers. The majority of the proposed route runs through mostly vacant and environmentally-sensitive areas.
