CTC Comments - Houston Bike Plan
The Citizens’ Transportation Coalition (CTC) submits this letter in strong support of the adoption by the Mayor and City Council of the Houston Bike Plan. We think the plan is well documented and distinguishes both short-term and vision projects, with short-term being indicated as a 5-year timeframe.
Texas Freight Mobility Plan 2017 – Draft
The Draft Plan is a very well researched from a current state factual basis, but it lacks discussion of certain key definitions, issues, and events that we think should be included in, or explained further, in this plan.
TxDOT Sunset Review Process
Several of the improvements recommended in the 2011 Sunset Review Report have been made to TxDOT’s operations and public involvement process, but many of these improvements have been undermined by recent legislative and regulatory changes, such as FAST and the TxDOT MOU with the FHWA.
North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP)
CTC cannot support the NHHIP Project without further written analysis, supplementation of the Constructability document, public input and input from elected officials addressing the long term construction impacts of Segment 3, its impact on the downtown viability, and the operability of the finished interchange segments.
